ENG 1 Seafarer's Medicals

As of June 2017, we are now approved by the Maritime & Coastguard Agency to carry out ENG Medicals on Seafarers.

The Merchant Shipping (Medical Certification) Regulations in force from the 6th June 2010, make it a legal requirement for any Seafarer which can be defined as any person, including the master, who is employed, engaged or works in any capacity aboard a ship and whose normal place of work is on a ship - to hold a valid medical certificate attesting to their medical fitness to perform their duties.
 

The fundamental purpose of the seafarer medical assessment is to ensure that that individual seafarer is fit for the work for which he or she is to be employed, taking into account the particular risks associated with working at sea. The seafarer medical examination is a key element in this process.
 

We are based in Annalong, Co. Down - a perfect location for the Seafarers employed at our local ports, especially Kilkeel Harbour, Northern Ireland's largest fishing fleet.
